Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tiote will play in his side’s return to the Europa League on Thursday night despite his arrest on driving offences near the club training ground.
The Ivory Coast international, who returned from Africa Cup of Nations duties last week, was left by the side of the road by police officers after his £75,000 Chevy Camaro was taken away on a recovery truck as he was driving home from training.
The £60,000-a-week midfielder, who has had previous offences for driving without insurance and had a BMW seized by cops two years ago, could face penalty points or a ban for his latest brush with the law.
