The Elephants of the Ivory Coast triumphed on Saturday over a strong willed home side in Bujumbura, Burundi.
With Kalou out injured and Drogba not present, the Ivorians continued on their qualifying campaign to CAN 2012 by beating the Burundi Swallows 0-1 on their home ground. A magnificent free kick from midfielder Romric Ndri in the 33rd minute of the first half allowed the Elephants to go home again with maximum points.
Benin, Burundi, the Ivory Coast and Rwanda are all competing in group H for a place in the finals at the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon & Equatorial Guinea in 2012. The next round of qualifiers will see the Ivory Coast play Benin at home in March of 2011.
